not all kids are as awesome as Allister, I guess.

Here's a little spot I did for an article in Lola magazine about kids who are overindulged by their parents.

This reminded me of the time I was walking around by myself in Copenhagen (Rachel wasn't feeling good) and I saw a family with a kid who was super excited (8 or 9 I think). The parents were talking to each other and the kid was smiling and yelling and pointing at a carousel. I expected the parents to get annoyed because he was interrupting, but instead when they noticed he was trying to get their attention, they got excited about the carousel, too and they picked him up and ran over to it. It was such a simple thing for them to not get annoyed by the kid, but it's always stuck with me (I think this was 6 or 7 years ago!). I hope that's the kind of dad I am.

I feel very lucky that we live in a town that's so family-focused. Everywhere we go in Decatur people make us feel like Allister is their favorite customer, even when she's really busy and likes to pick up their merchandise (which happened last night in a tiny boutique). Speaking of our awesome kid, how about some new photos of her??

Allister is adorable!
It all depends on a the day and on the amount of kids. Sometimes, all goes well... and you are happy and the carousel seems like such an awesome idea...!
They must have been on vacation:)
I try to be always that enthusiastic about what the girls are exited about... but it's not always simple.
It's nice to aspire, tho:)
