the Argyle Academy has Diario

A few months back I did a tutorial on DIY silkscreen process for a chinese book called I LOVE HANDICRAFT. Here is a review of the book in Diario Catarinens, one of my favorite newspapers. I'm kidding, I don't know anything about EXCEPT that it likes good books from china.

FLOWER DOODLES!

Here's a new pattern called FLOWER DOODLES. If you'd like to use it for a project, contact my agent.

Illustration - major's fair tomorrow

Tomorrow SCAD is having a major's fair so students who are still deciding which major to pick can get a feel for the different programs. Here's the tiny poster I made for our table. Hopefully the incredible student work we will have on display will convince some folks that Illustration is the way to go.

WINTER BEARD on book by its cover

Book by its cover, one of the argyle academy's favorite blogs, has a great review of (my unpublished comic) WINTER BEARD today.

such great heights

today's doodles

birds in decatur

One great benefit of moving is now I actually have a window in my studio. This means that a) I now have natural lighting and b) I am always distracted by what's going on outside. Here are a few of the flying folks I've been seeing lately:

types of mustaches (part one)

trying out new pens, part II

Last night some vendors came to our faculty orientation at SCAD and gave us some odds and ends. The best thing I got (by far) were some pen sets from Prismacolor. I couldn't wait to get home to try them out.

moved in...almost

I think Rachel likes being married to an artist...until it comes time to move. Look at all that junk in our new dining room. Sigh. She's actually made her way through almost all of the boxes and we are mostly moved in now. (this was a few days ago!)

Finally in our new place, we have a spot to put up this poster that I picked up for Allister in NYC. The picture isn't great, so I'll try and take a better shot tomorrow:

The Argyle Academy has relocated!

As you might have noticed, things have been very slow around here. My wife and I have been packing up all of our stuff (and our daughter Allister...don't worry we used plenty of packing blankets for her) and now we are all moved in to our new place in Atlanta. Starting next week I will be teaching Illustration at the Savannah College of Art and Design's Atlanta campus!

Since the family and I are very unfamiliar with the Atlanta area we are open to any suggestions for must-see stuff here in town. We moved into a quiet neighborhood in Decatur, GA (just East of town). Our apartment is great (though, a bit hot at the moment) so you all can stop worrying about us.

I have also been working on illustrations for a book for a great publisher, and I'll post those images as soon as I can. It might be a while!

ALSO, our friends over at Copacetique just emailed to let me know that they will have some Argyle Academy prints at the Renegade Fair in Chicago THIS WEEKEND. If you're in town and you go to the show, please be sure to swing by and tell Janice that you like her stuff and buy something from her!
