What has the Academy been up to?
The journal section has been a little quiet for the past few days. We have a great reason, I've just signed on with a fantastic illustration agency, Lilla Rogers Studio. While trying to decide which agents to submit my artwork to, Lilla's name kept popping up on the blogs I read, trade books, etc. She was my first choice and was honored when she offered me representation. We immediately started working together to develop some new patterns and surface designs for an upcoming show. More info on that later.
Here are some of the patterns I've been working on:
"Cities" series:

"synths I want":

"MonsterKids!":

"MonsterKids! Halloween party set":

"old houses":

"Happy Birthday Bunnies":

(ps. all of these patterns are still available. Contact Lilla Rogers Studio at www.lillarogers.com for more information!)

The Argyle Academy loves Odette
As some of you know, in June my wife Rachel and I had a little girl. Weeks before the expected delivery date, I found out that it was common for dudes to get their ladies something nice as a "thanks for dealing with getting pretty big and being sick for the past 9 months" gift. So, instead of buying some nice jewelry or that Wings complete series DVD box set that Rachel wanted, I made her (and Allister) this:
BUNNY PARADE VIDEO
Well, a few months later we got a little "welcome to the world, allister!" package from our friend Jennifer Sarkilahti at Brooklyn-based, Odette NY . We couldn't believe it when we opened the tiny box to find this:

It's a one-of-a-kind Bunny Parade necklace!! It is by far one of the best gifts we've ever received. BY FAR. It's amazing. The only problem is that now Rachel can never decide between the sparrow necklace from Odette I bought for her, or the Bunny Parade necklace. Check out her other stuff here: Odette NY
and her blog here.
