the gas crisis
The gas issue here in Atlanta is out of control. There were 45 min (plus) lines wrapping around the few gas stations that had gas. I found a station with 15 car lines at ONE pump...leaving the other side of the station almost vacant. I just pulled in right behind one other car, but it doesn't mean I didn't have to wait. The pumps were running so slowly that a full tank would take around 20 minutes or so.
Adding a bit of ridiculousness to the situation, the thing that tells the handle to automatically cut off when it's full wasn't working, so I ended up spilling gas ($4.20 a gallon) on the ground. Luckily, I was able to make the best of the situation and mimed scooping it up to the car of guys behind me who laughed.

I had the same problem with the auto shut-off -- isn't this the time to make sure the gas quits pumping, rather than letting it pour out all over my tennis shoes? *sigh*
Previous post by Allison, btw.
