downtown roswell
During our constant search for houses in the Atlanta area, we keep bringing up a town just north of the "the loop" (285) called Sandy Springs. It's sort of pricey, but not too far from SCAD and we've hear rumors that it's a bit "un-bohemian" but convenient. So, we decided to check it out this weekend. Granted we didn't give it much of a chance, but we weren't that impressed.
However, one great thing that came of the trip was a little detour through downtown Roswell. Roswell is just north of Sandy Springs and has a great small town feel, but with several galleries and quaint (aka slightly expensive) restaurants. We ate some of the best Mexican food we've ever had at a place called Ceviche. Allister was cramming handfuls of rice like she'd never eaten before!
I doubt it's worth us making the trip back up to Roswell, but it was a great and unexpected find.
The only other news on the house hunting is that we've basically fallen in love with Decatur (mostly). There are some amazing (but sort of tiny) houses in our price range in great (and not so great) neighborhoods. It's going to take a lot of patience and searching to find the right combination of size and upgrades, but we think it will be worth the wait.
