some artifacts from our trip
We're back! Rachel and I (and the growing baby wolf that is in Rachel's belly), took the red eye from LA last night and got back this morning at 5 in the a.m. I'll post some journal pages from the trip tomorrow (one of which includes our accidental trip through compton), but for now here are a few artifacts from the trip:

Orange: We stayed in Orange County, and picked some oranges out of our host's parent's neighbor's yard.
Avacado: We didn't stay in Avacado County, but we did pick a ton of avacados out of our host's grandparent's yard.
Airplane sleep mask: I tried using this, but it smelled weird and I couldn't sleep.
Sour candy: I am now officially addicted to Ice Breakers Sours.
Tar pits bubble: The tar pits aren't as active in the winter, but they were still interesting.
$40 in Jack Daniels: The old guy next to us on the plane ride to LA bought at least $40 in Jack Daniels mini bottles, and passed out. Since Rachel's pregnant, we had to wake him up several times so she could get up and walk around.
Sea Hare: Now sea hare! This weird slug thing was in the tide pools at Laguna Beach.
Shell thing: Some germans saw this in my hand and they said, "you found this here?!?" and they seemed so excited that I offered it to them, but they said they had plenty. Then, they found a moving star fish and showed it to us.
Avacado picker: I was a natural. Picking avacados was probably one of my favorite things that we did.
